What is the withholding tax rate?

The withholding tax rate varies based on your country of tax residence. Here are the current applicable rates:

  • If you are a tax resident of Latvia, the withholding tax rate is 20%, as per the Personal Income Tax Act.
  • If you are a private individual investor and a tax resident of an EU/EEA country other than Latvia, the withholding tax rate on interest income is 5%. This rate will be automatically applied to your account the day after you confirm your EU/EEA tax details in the Tax Details section of your account settings. To benefit from this rate, please make sure to select the option "I am investing as a private person." You don't need to submit any documentation.

Exception: If you are a tax resident of Lithuania and provide a tax resident certificate, we apply a 0% withholding tax rate.
