As of 23 September 2026, Nectaro is the first non-bank company in Latvia to offer its clients an investment account. We call it the iPayTax account.
The investment account (iPayTax account) is currently available only to Latvian tax residents. Nectaro is already working to offer this solution to clients from other European Union countries in the near future.
An investment account lets investors reinvest the income they earn on the platform without paying tax on it until they withdraw more than the total amount they've paid into the account.
In practice, this makes a real difference to an investor's bottom line. Instead of paying tax after every interest payment, with an investment account tax is only due when the investor withdraws more than they've deposited. All income can be reinvested in full, so money that would otherwise go to tax keeps working and earning for the investor. Over time, this difference can significantly increase overall returns, especially for those who reinvest regularly. Opening and using the account is free of charge.
🧮 Example
- You transfer €5,000 to your iPayTax account (investment account) and invest it.
- During the year, you withdraw €3,000. That's less than you deposited, so no tax is due.
- Later that same year, you withdraw another €3,000. In total, you've withdrawn €6,000, which is €1,000 more than you deposited.
- Your taxable income for the year is €1,000, which you declare in your annual income tax return.
⚖️ Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of part or all of the invested capital. The iPayTax account does not change the risk level of investments; it only changes how tax is paid. Tax information is general and does not constitute tax advice.
